ARTEFEKZ Labz is an independent company of multimedia
production which focuses on music productions, concerts, performances,
art installations, video productions, short films, and documentaries.
Artistically
and technically conceived in 2002 by the two Puerto Rican masterminds,
Yisam Vazquez (IKER, MerKaDo NeGro)and Daniel Cruz (PARALLAX TR3s) in
Orlando, FL while still in school to concrete collective art works and
elaborate the right vehicle to unfold its projects.
During the
next two years they were involved with multiple local acts working from
hip hop to rock and reggae roots to electronic music, putting their
unique stamp and trademark to every genre or artist that they
developed. In 2004, in collaboration with Japan’s Toshiba/EMI they
produce for the infamous dancehall crew FIREBALL’s “999 EXPRESS” album
making its first international landmark.
In 2006 they move back
to Puerto Rico and start to work different ways to expand its horizons
Daniel made a name for himself as one of the top hip hop producer
putting its touch on most of the local artists’ album projects and
Yisam joined “THE RUBBER GASKET” (Jorge Montes and Francisco Tarrio) a
well known electro group and the only Live PA in the island. In 2007,
”TRG” became ARTEFEKZ (ARTEFAKTOs) group being the first electronic
act in Puerto Rico to offer its show with costumes and a full
audio/visual experience, creating such an impact that took the label’s
first appearance in the Winter Music Conference in Miami.
ARTEFEKZ Labz also act as an independent record label who distributes
electronic, downtempo, and experimental music under the moniker of
ARTEFEKZ Muzik.
