MulaTTos {Techno, Tech-House}
MulaTTos consists of Joel Latimer and Jonny Cruz, two Puerto Ricans that have been together since childhood, even before knowing that they were going to be producing techno together. It all took a few old school underground partying all around the exotic outdoors of Puerto Rico to realize that electronic music was their destiny. They started dj'ing drum & bass to then take it to the next level, producing it, ending up in Full Sail in Orlando, FL studying Recording Arts and graduating in 2003.
Destiny was different to each other, Jonny went to Cleveland and continued producing drum & bass. He became part of Identity, who has a couple of releases. JLatimer went back to Puerto Rico and worked in a well known rap & reggeton studio in San Juan as a sound engineer. Afterwards, he started to work in the Puerto Rican film industry as a boom operator, sound mixer and audio-post engineer, in which he works at the present as freelance.
Both always working in their portable studio, keeping each other up to date with new tracks, realized that it was time to team up and start to do what they've always loved, House music with a little psychedelic twist of their own, making what's more like a techno, tech house, sometimes with a minimal sound to it; and that’s how Mulattos was born. Mulatto is a term used to describe a person whose ancestry is a mixture of black and white, which have been in both of their cases, and most of the people in Puerto Rico. That's what best described their relationship as producers. The blend of tastes is what makes this arising duo so unique and special.
